Project Overview

The city of Phoenix has contracted with Achen-Gardner Construction to construct improvements to Lower Buckeye Road between 35th and 43rd avenues.  Design is nearing completion and construction will begin in early September, and is scheduled to be substantially completed in April, 2012. 

 

The Lower Buckeye Road Improvements Project will include the following improvements to be constructed (see aerial map at Project Design page):

 

35th to 39th Avenue Improvements:

·         Widening Lower Buckeye Road to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane

·         Bus pull-outs to the east and west of 35th Avenue

·         New curb, gutter, sidewalk and lighting

·         Upgrades to drainage, the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks at 37th Avenue, and SRP irrigation facilities

·         Various utility relocations

39th to 43rd Avenue Improvements:

·         Drainage and lighting improvements
