Project Overview

The city of Phoenix has contracted with Achen-Gardner Construction to construct improvements to Lower Buckeye Road between 35^th and 43^rd avenues.  Design is nearing completion and construction will begin in early September, and is scheduled to be substantially completed in April, 2012. 

The Lower Buckeye Road Improvements Project will include the following improvements to be constructed (see aerial map at Project Design page):

35^th to 39^th Avenue Improvements:

·         Widening Lower Buckeye Road to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane

·         Bus pull-outs to the east and west of 35^th Avenue

·         New curb, gutter, sidewalk and lighting

·         Upgrades to drainage, the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks at 37^th Avenue, and SRP irrigation facilities

·         Various utility relocations

39^th to 43^rd Avenue Improvements:

·         Drainage and lighting improvements
